hello, my name is Richard West, and I am a passionate professional garden designer, based in Rugby Warwickshire

How did I find myself as a garden designer? Well maybe it was my ancestry, my grandfather spent a working life as a Head Park Gardener in North London right up to his retirement. My father was a Design Draughtsman for most of his career, and I too have been on the drawing board, evolving into computer aided design packages over the years in various professions including architecture and interior retail design. In 2021 an opportunity opened up for me study my passion for gardening in particular the design aspects, at the highly respected Cotswold Gardening School, in Gloucestershire. So I committed to obtain a Diploma In Garden Design and graduated with a distinction and top student recognition. My background enables me to present professional quality drawings to a high standard, whilst being creative and passionate about my work, working closely with my clients to create there dream garden for them to enjoy for many years. 

If not in my own garden or busy working on your garden designs, I enjoy photography and the indulgent pleasure of cars, especially classic Italian.
