A chance for us to meet and introduce myself whilst seeing the site you would like to transform into your new dream garden. This initial consultation is usually free of charge*. An opportunity for me to greater explain the processes and options, with accompanying samples from my portfolio. We can share any initial early thoughts and gain an understanding of the project extent.

The Site Survey* and Appraisal is the most important first step to any garden design.
Every project will need an accurate scale drawing of the existing site. this will involve measuring and recording the site in its current state, understanding the sites orientation and topography. Taking soil samples for testing and establishing the most suitable plants for the new garden. I will produce an accurate scale drawing to record the information and subsequently form a template for producing the final design Master Layout Plan drawing. It will also form a useful document for Landscapers to understand the extent of works required to transform the existing site when preparing you a quotation.
*(for complex site surveys these may require outsourcing to a professional land surveyor).
Our communication tool to develop ideas and agree to the design principle. This is an important and fun stage, engaging dialogue between us. The Mood Boards are produced as a collection of carefully thought provoking mages we refine and select based on the brief, and forms a basis to produce the new garden design. A sounding board to establish preferred styles, designs, looks and overall feel for the new garden design.
The Master Layout Plan is the new garden design, produced based on agreed design principles from your brief and the tuned Mood Boards. The new garden design in now fully drawn to scale as a complete 2D layout plan. The Master Layout Plan contains detailed information and specifications for a Landscaper to quote against and ultimately implement final build/landscaping installation. Structural planting such as hedging and trees are included and specified within this drawing.
(Some projects may require additional drawings for specific design requirements)
3D Visuals help bring the garden to life a great visual aid as a more immersive impression of the garden design. The 3D Visuals really help convey the design and add a different dimension to show off the new garden design.
A well thought out planting plan will unify your garden adding colour, and texture whilst softening the hard landscaping where needed. By choosing the right plants for the right place, your garden can flourish giving years of enjoyment. I provide professional standard Planting Plans, completing the garden design process. The Planting Plans will complement the overall garden design with carefully considered planting to provide year round interest. The Planting Plan drawing has a complete quantified breakdown of plants for sourcing and procurement.
In most instances, I am able to source and supply all your plants in accordance with the planting plan, including specimen trees, instant hedging, shrubs as well as perennials, all of which can be delivered straight to your new garden for planting up.
Additionally I offer a plant setting out service to reflect the planting plans.
